Diptyque is a French perfumery house born out of the incomparable friendship between Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet. These three creatives were experts on Art History; a subject that influenced the naming and logo creation of the Maison. The name ‘Diptyque’ translates to ‘a door with two identical windows on either side’ in French. And, for its branding each alphabet is written in a way to form the structure of an ancient temple. They opened in 1961 at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in the 5th arrondissement of Paris as a concept store where they sold items, like Indian incense burners, Lorraine glassware, Bistro sugar holders and more. Place all reeds in the diffuser at once. To increase the fragrance intensity, flip the reeds over more frequently. To decrease fragrance intensity, remove reeds until desired fragrance is achieved.
