This smooth tray is crafted by hand from natural onyx with a flat silhouette and a subtle lip. It’s inspired by a series of stone vessels found in the Middle Kingdom tomb in Haraga, Egypt, now housed in The Met’s extensive collection. Due to the chosen material and handmade production, each Fayum Vase features unique variations in color and veining.
